Entering Mahidol University International College (MUIC), there is one major activity that cannot be missed by freshmen: An event filled with entertainment and bonding. This is the recreational activity called “The Freshmen Welcoming Activity” also known as “Rubnong,” an event spanning two weeks from January 15 to 25, 2024. This activity, held after class hours,  gives all new freshmen the chance to partake in MUIC culture and meet up with new and amazing people.

In this activity, nongs are placed into one of the seven groups organized by 658 seniors, all under the “Colour Sports” theme. All to break that ice wall, groups became a space for freshmen to meet new friends and peers around them, giving them a chance to create a network in a new community within MUIC.

Each and every group was filled with euphoria playing games and teaching fun Mahidol University (MU) songs, introducing the “Nongs” to their lovely “P’s.” Every group is different in how they play and interact with their “Nongs.” Some groups had guest CMM658 members participating, while others had alumni disguising themselves and blending in as “Nongs.” But one thing is for sure: They all had fun! Preparing themselves for the big game that was about to come at the end of “Rubnong.”
