As part of Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) ongoing commitment to advancing technology education, the college, in collaboration with the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (INT), hosted a full-day “Blockchain & Decentralized Tech” event on April 29, 2025.

Held at the MaSHARES Building located at the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (INT) in Mahidol University’s Salaya campus, the event brought together nearly 100 students from diverse fields such as Business Administration, Computer Science, Creative Technology, Economics, and International Relations for a day of hands-on learning, industry insights, and career networking.

A Platform for Learning and Growth

The event was organized and hosted by Dr. Aman Saggu, Lecturer in Cryptoeconomics at MUIC, who designed the program to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world blockchain applications. Recognizing the rapid growth of the digital economy, the event aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and professional connections that can shape their future careers. "Blockchain is not just a technology — it’s a new financial infrastructure that will define the next decade," Dr. Saggu said in his opening address. "Our goal with this event was to provide students with the insights, skills, and networks they need to thrive in this emerging field."

Industry Leaders Share Insights

Students had the opportunity to learn from some of the most influential voices in Thailand’s blockchain ecosystem:

  • Dr. Aman Saggu, Event Host and MUIC Lecturer in Cryptoeconomics, set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of blockchain literacy and career readiness in the digital economy.
  • Khun Gun Clawvuthinan, APAC Community Manager at Uniswap, the largest decentralized cryptocurrency exchange in the world, spoke about the future of decentralized finance (DeFi), including the career opportunities it presents for young professionals. He also announced that he will personally mentor selected students on an ongoing basis to help them break into the crypto, consulting and investment sectors.
  • Khun Nares Laopannarai, President of the Thai Digital Asset Association, provided a comprehensive overview of Thailand’s digital asset regulations, the growing market for investment tokens, and the opportunities emerging from the Bank of Thailand’s stablecoin sandbox.
  • Khun Amornwan “Tookta” Chatchalitwaphong, Co-Founder of APE X CRYPTO, discussed the critical role of legal frameworks in the crypto industry, covering the complexities of ICO structures across traditional, hybrid, and Web3 financial models.
  • Khun Sirada Traijakvanich, VP of Business Development at Bitazza and proud MUIC alumna, shared practical advice on building a career in Web3, stressing the importance of agility, innovation, and a community-first mindset in the fast-paced blockchain sector. She also highlighted Bitazza’s upcoming recruitment of MUIC students for internships and management training positions.

Hands-On Learning and Career Building

The event was more than just lectures. It included interactive sessions, live Q&A, and a crypto-themed quiz with prizes from Bitazza and Freedom World. Students also had the chance to sign up for the re-launch of the MUIC Blockchain Club, a student-led community aimed at fostering blockchain education and professional development. To keep the energy high, Uniswap sponsored lunch for attendees, which included countless pizzas, fried chicken, and drinks — all served in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere that encouraged discussion and networking.

Looking Ahead

Reflecting on the event, Dr. Saggu emphasized the importance of continuous learning in this rapidly changing field. “The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, and the level of engagement was impressive. It’s clear that the next generation is ready to lead in this space.” With continued support from MUIC, INT, and industry partners like Uniswap, Bitazza, and APE X CRYPTO, the college aims to establish itself as a leading center for blockchain education in Thailand.
