MUIC Finance Student Wins 2nd Runner-up Spot at Wealth Management Hackathon

Senior Finance student Mr. Kistapas Uchiyama of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) and his team, composed of students from various universities, secured 2nd Runner-up at the KKPS Wealth Management Hackathon 2026, held June 6–7 at KKP Tower in Bangkok.

Co-hosted by Kiatnakin Phatra Securities (KKPS) and the Bangkok Asset & Wealth Management Society (BAMWS), the intensive two-day hackathon selected 50 top university students from Thailand and abroad to develop strategic solutions for complex, real-world wealth management challenges.

Collaborating under the mentorship of KKPS investment specialists, participants were assigned to intercollegiate teams. They analyzed a wide spectrum of asset classes, including Thai and international equities, fixed income, mutual funds, private markets, and structured notes. Mr. Kistapas contributed to designing a portfolio using an Asset-Liability Matching (ALM) strategy built around zero-coupon corporate bonds, engineered to safeguard cash flows and minimize interest rate exposure for retirees.

His team (Team 10), composed of students from MUIC, Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, and NIDA, delivered its final pitch directly to a panel of senior KKPS executives, including Mr. Narit Kosalathip, Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management; Dr. Jon Wongswan, Managing Director and Head of Investment Products and Strategy; and Mr. Taweesak Paopalob, Assistant Managing Director and Head of the CIO Office.

Business Administration Division officials commended Mr. Kistapas’ performance, noting that this achievement underscored the strong analytical foundation and practical skills developed within the division. MUIC congratulated Mr. Kistapas on this success and wished him the best in his future career in finance.
