Mr. Techin Maytanitikun, a student in Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) at Mahidol University International College (MUIC), put on a masterclass in resilience and tactical riding during the second round of the prestigious Toyota -2W Waterjet Pro Tour 2026. The competition took place from May 28 to 31, 2026, along the infamously unpredictable sea track of Suan Son Pradipat Beach in Prachuap Kirikhan Province.

Unlike standard closed-course races, the open-ocean venue presented severe challenges as Thailand's rainy season kicked into gear. Riders faced a chaotic blend of sudden storms and towering waves, which unexpectedly gave way to glass-flat water surfaces post-rainfall. These rapidly shifting conditions demanded constant, precise adjustments to watercraft tuning and engine setups.

Techin’s strategic adaptability proved to be his greatest asset:

  • Moto 1: Despite a difficult start, Techin put on a gritty recovery drive, fighting his way up from P3 to secure a P2 finish.

  • Moto 2: He maintained his momentum against challenging waves to claim a solid P3 finish.

  • Moto 3: After starting from a disadvantaged P4 position, Techin carved his way through the pack once more to finish P3.

His consistent, hard-fought performances across all three motos earned him a second-place (P2) podium finish overall for the round, solidifying his status as a top contender in the national jet-ski circuit.
