Each year, the Student Association of Mahidol University—the central student body representing the entire university—hosts a beloved tradition that celebrates unity, diversity, and sportsmanship across the university known as MU Games. This year, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) joined this spirited event with strong support from the Student Association of MUIC (SMO Som-O), bringing together MUIC students, showcasing not only their athletic talents but also the collaborative spirit that defines MUIC.

Held from March 12 to 19, 2025, across various fields and venues at Mahidol University’s Salaya Campus, the event brought together students from all faculties and campuses to compete in a variety of sports events. Each year, the MU Games provide a platform for students to connect, compete, and celebrate their shared university spirit—something which MUIC was not left behind, to say the least.

The event kicked off with a colorful parade of faculties and colleges, with each contingent proudly representing their home unit creatively under the dynamic "Gen Z" theme. Dressed in colorful uniforms and waving banners, MUIC students marched as they bore their college’s unique identity in high spirits, showcasing diversity, gender, internationalism, athleticism and culture joining the larger Mahidol community.

Throughout the week-long athletic event, students competed in a wide variety of sports demonstrating remarkable skill and determination. Matches were held at different venues across the campus, drawing students together in support and celebration. This team-based approach fostered mutual understanding among participants and also promoted sports as a means of supporting student wellness, fostering inter-faculty connections and encouraging an active lifestyle.

The players from MUIC showcased their athletic prowess—competing and winning medals, recognition, and campus-wide respect. In the table tennis event, both the men’s and women’s singles players fought their way to impressive 3rd Place finishes. The tug of war team showed resilience and strength, and also secured 3rd Place, just behind the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (MUICT). MUIC’s basketball team clinched a 3rd Place victory by default following the Faculty of Dentistry's (MUDT) withdrawal. On the track event, MUIC runners sprinted to 2nd Place in the women's 100-meter competition but gained the 1st Place gold medal for the 4x100-meter relay. Marking the highlight of the event, the football match against the College of Sports Science and Technology (MUSS) kept spectators on edge, ending in a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout that placed MUIC in 2nd Place. However, the biggest moments came in the courts: MUIC’s mixed badminton team triumphed over the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies (MUEN) to claim 1st Place, and in a thrilling showdown, MUIC's female basketball team beat the Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY), emerging as basketball champions of the MU Games 2025. It was a collection of stellar performances proving that MUIC is a force to be reckoned with in university sports.
