On March 6, 2026, the MUICMUN Club successfully launched "Crisis Lab," an experimental take on the traditional Model United Nations format.
Designed to move away from slow-burn debate, the event immersed students in a high-stakes environment centered on fast-paced statecraft and real-time decision-making.
The Crisis Lab challenged participants to step into the shoes of United Nations representatives navigating an evolving international emergency. Unlike standard committees, this format prioritized critical thinking, diplomatic agility, and public speaking under pressure.
The initiative was spearheaded by the MUICMUN Academic Team, led by Mrs. Yoonjung Chang. Her vision for the lab was to demystify the complex "Crisis Committee" format, offering both seasoned members and newcomers a more accessible, relaxed, and concise way to practice high-level diplomacy.
Serving as the final event for Trimester 2 of the 2025-26 academic year, the Crisis Lab marks a strategic shift for the club. It offers a glimpse into a new, more innovative direction for MUICMUN, signaling a move toward diverse and interactivity.
