The Rakkaew Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) organized a day trip for 24 students to explore the multicultural Kudichin community on May 24, 2025.

The Kudichin community,  located along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, is a culturally rich neighborhood that shows the harmonious blend of Thai, Chinese, and Portuguese influence. The community is known for the architecture design of its historical buildings, notably Santa Cruz Church and the Kuan An Keng Shrine. Another interesting site is the Baan Kudichin Museum, which is located in an old Portuguese villa.

With these marvelous cultural and historical buildings, the club officials said they would like the participants to have a deeper understanding through hands-on experiences including baking Quejadas (traditional Portuguese dessert) and explored samples of Thai, Chinese and Portuguese cultures in Baan Kudichin Museum as well as Kanlayanamit temple which was constructed during the reign of King Rama III. This temple is a great place to learn and understand the ancient history of Thailand and at the same time a place where one can pray for good luck in life.
