MUIC Diving Club made a comeback with its popular activity, the “Scuba Ocean Session.” This semester, the Diving Club collaborated with Just Dive Thailand, bringing participants to Samaesarn, Chonburi province on March 9-10, 2024 to help them obtain their SSI license, an international certificate for scuba diving.

During the “Ocean Session,” the 27 participating students who had previously joined the” Scuba Pool Session” tested their newly-learned essential scuba diving skills in the “Ocean Session” to qualify for their international certificate.

For the Open Water license, participants were required to perform various skills, including controlling descent with their dive buddy, mask removal and replacement, regulator clearing, stationary gas sharing, and more. For the Advanced license, they must complete navigation skills, perfect buoyancy, Hardeep Dive (wreck diving), DSMB, torch and hand signs, among others.

Additionally, all participants in both courses, Open Water and Advanced, also got to enjoy a leisure dive after completing all the skills. During this dive, they had the opportunity to explore the aquatic world with the guidance of dive instructors.
