The Animations, Games, and Comics Club (AGC) of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) held an outfit design competition for its beloved club mascot, AGC-chan (Online Activity). The event spanned from April 29 until May 12, 2024.

Driven with the grandest of desires and blessed with much creativity and ambition, contestants submitted outfit designs according to the specified themes and elements that defined the very essence of AGC-chan through Instagram and Google Form.

Three Fine and Applied Arts (FAA) Division faculty members served as the competition’s judges: Ajarn Yuttana Sungivong, Ajarn Supawan Supaneedis, and Ajarn Sarrath Virasakdi. The scoring metric was also dependent on a popularity vote by the student population.

With the votes finalized, Ms. Khwanchira Daosirirot (ICIB) snatched 3rd Place with her game-console x magical girl rendition of AGC-chan (featuring her magical girl critter x cyber-cat manager, Derpu). She received a 500 Baht cash prize. Second Place went to Ms. Trinsaya Tepsuwan  (ICCT) with her brilliant use of manga panels as a skirt pattern and mini cat-cape, earning her a 1,500 Baht cash prize.  Finally, the 1st Place was awarded to Ms. Suthasinee Hu (ICCD) with her clean-cut linework and rendering on the ultimate polymath and cyber idol that is AGC-chan! She went home with the 2,000 Baht cash prize.

The event was hosted and led by esteemed AGC staff members, including, Thanapat “Gun” Nartthanarung, Project Head; Burin “Rin” Intachuen, Event Adviser; Narongrit “Day” Phuwaset, Lead Organizer; Marie “God” Eoin Bernhardt Tenchavez Estolas, Co-Organizer; Danthai “Danny” Rakmuang, Poster Designer Lead; Kunanon “Nicky” Thappawong, Database Collector; and many others who have deeply contributed to the event’s success. There were 11 students who participated in the competition.

The AGC Club said it is currently working on future activities with greater rewards and entertainment that shall employ the use of the winning outfit design—so stay tuned for more!
