Thai Dessert Time: “Sampunnee”

The Rakkaew Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) recently organized a vibrant “sampunnee”-making workshop, as part of celebrating Thailand's rich cultural heritage.

The workshop, held at the Ground Floor, Aditayathorn Building, on February 8, 2024, immersed participants in the ancient dish of “sampunnee,” a traditional Thai dessert known for its intricate flavors and cultural significance.

There was a total of 40 student participants who delved into the history and symbolism of “sampunnee,” learning about its role in Thai ceremonies and celebrations. The participants also experimented with the ingredients to create their own “sampunnee.”
