Thailand, Japan Attractive to Foreign Students, Says MUIC-Chiba Event

Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Project Development Unit (PDU) and Human Resources Development Unit collaborated with Chiba University International Student Division (CU-ISD), Japan in organizing the P2P Staff Development Project Session 4 on January 28, 2022, with the topic “Strength of Japan and Thailand to attract foreign students” on an online platform.

Speakers from MUIC, Ms. Jeerawan Thongsakol and Ms. Sasithon Panyanak along with their counterparts from Chiba University, Ms. Aya Minami and Ms. Haruka Kimur, gave presentations on the topic “Strength of Japan and Thailand to attract foreign students.”

MUIC’s speakers explained that being the top adventure destinations, rich culture in heritage and tradition, authentic cuisine, and quality of education with affordable price are pull factors for Thailand.  While speakers from CU confirmed that various choices of study at higher education level with cheaper cost of living compared to western countries, excellent public transportation, and high reputation of service quality in Japan are their uniqueness. Speakers also mentioned new programs offered which are MUIC Short-terms, Creative Technology, and J-PAC programs that are in trend for university students and the young generation.

Over 30 participants got the opportunity to share their experiences in Thailand and Japan and what they like from both countries. In the end, a crossword game is used to strengthen participants’ understanding, and the prizes went quickly to the winners just in 10 minutes.
