MUIC students watched a documentary on gender-based violence at the Screening Room, 5th Floor, Aditayathorn Building on October 15, 2025.

In order to raise awareness of gender-based violence among Mahidol University International College (MUIC) students, the Film Club partnered with Mr. Timethius J. Terrell, a visiting scholar, to bring the UNMUTED Documentary Series to the big screen at the Spectrum Screening Room, 5th Floor, Aditayathorn Building on October 15, 2025.

Produced by Without Exception Films and Picture Motion, UNMUTED tells the stories of women across the globe and their experiences with unfair, unjust, and harmful actions just because of their gender.

These women, exploited for most of their life, came together to amplify their voices so that the world may learn of their struggles. With film as the medium, the UNMUTED team wishes to connect better with the audiences around the world through two episodes which were screened at MUIC. These two episodes shed light on global issues that subjected women to violence, including child marriage and female genitalia mutilation.

After the screening, the 64 students who watched the documentary were encouraged to ask questions and engage reflectively during the panel discussion that had Mr. Asif Khan from Picture Motion and Dena Hysell-Cornejo, the director of UNMUTED, as panelists.
