Two budding filmmakers from Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Media and Communication Program won the Best Thai Short Film Direction Award at the International Thai Film Festival (ITFF) 2022 held online from September 15 to 19, 2022.
Mr. Napon Angsnaraks, the film’s director, and Mr. Wish Sutthatothon, the film’s producer, won the award for their film, “Strokes,” which was their senior thesis project.
The ITFF Film and Entertainment Industry Awards ceremony celebrated the most talented artists in the Thai film industry, holding film screenings and networking events in Bangkok annually. On its website, the ITFF says it is for filmmakers, film and entertainment industry professionals, content creators, artists, film students and movie enthusiasts, adding that it “aims to build a bridge between independent filmmakers and the public.”
The Media and Communication Program expressed its warm congratulations to the two student award winners “whose work exhibited excellence in artistry and filmmaking in noteworthy ways.”
Menawhile, Mr. Thitipat Kowatanawinta (director) and Mr. Phrasit Saraputtised (producer) have submitted their work, entitled “Even If,” a short film thesis project for the Media and Communication Program, to the Lift-Off Global Network Film Festival, which aims to showcase emerging talent from around the world. Their work has been officially selected to screen at 2022 Lift-Off’s first time filmmakers festival, which runs from October 24 to November 7, 2022.
