MUIC Hosts Special Talk of Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland’s Executive

Mahidol University International College (MUIC) welcomed a distinguished guest from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) who delivered a talk on “Embedding a Universal Culture of Student Engagement and Partnership: A Multi-step and University-wide Approach” on February 8, 2024 at Charinyarasami Hall, Aditayathorn Building.

Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., MUIC Dean, gave the welcome remarks. Asst. Prof. Dale Konstanz, Associate Dean for International Affairs, whose International Affairs Section staff organized the event, served as emcee. Several MUIC executives, faculty members and staff attended the occasion along with executives and faculty members from Mahidol University.

Prof. Celine Marmion, Deputy Dean for Student Engagement of RCSI, presented RCSI’s “Roadmap to Student Engagement and Partnership” which consists of transformative learning, formative learning and informative learning.

She added that “RCSI has explicitly incorporated student partnership as a key strategy enabler in striving to transform health care education, research and service for the benefit of human health.” Embodying this is the college’s Aspire to Excellence Award for Student Engagement.

RCSI’s University of Medicine and Health Services, founded in 1784, boasts of being a world-leading health science university with more than 4,500 students from over 100 countries.
