A Computer Science Freshman of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) and her team captured 1st Place in the Creative AI Camp 2024 organized by CP ALL at CP ALL Academy, Tara Park on October 26, 2024.

Ms. Naratsarun Thanarithiporn was one of the 40 people chosen to participate in the camp. There were two phases in the camp, the first phase being onsite at a 5-day 4-night camp at Tara Park from August16 - 20, 2024.

In the first phase, the participants chose their teams by selecting a problem statement. Each team had about three senior mentors, three junior mentors, and one representative from CP ALL (or BU).

Ms. Naratsarun’s team consisted of a variety of people from other schools. Their problem statement was creating a KM and AI chatbot for answering small and medium enterprises’ (SMEs) questions.  Their BU suggested the problem statement as “SMEs which want to partner with 7-11 facing problems such as lack of information and agent overload to the call centers, which only have two staff members per unit.” Hence, they created a RAG chatbot trained on FAQ information and the call Q&A log data to combat this problem. Additionally, during phase one, professionals in the industry served as guest speakers and talked about generative AI, LLMs, and computer vision. At the end of phase one, they had a round of practice pitching.

In phase 2 which was held online from August 21 to October 18, they developed their chatbot further by adding algorithms to combat hallucinations, and integrated their chatbot with Apex Oracle database, as a low code solution to modifying the database.

In addition to biweekly milestone meetings with the company’s AI experts, they had Go lessons and a Go competition as well. Finally, on the final pitching day on October 26, they presented their technical solution and business plan to judges and came out on top, winning 1st Place overall.

As the day drew to a close, the participants took photos and expressed their gratitude to the community members for their warmth, hospitality, and the valuable skills they shared throughout the day. The experience left the visiting students with a deep appreciation for the community’s traditions and commitment to sustainability.
