The Mahidol University Regulation on Student Discipline, Appeals, and Grievances B.E. 2569 (2026) has been established to protect and maintain a safe, orderly, and conducive educational environment on campus, enabling all members of the university community to coexist harmoniously. The College reserves the right to take any necessary action to safeguard the safety and well-being of the campus community.
Students shall be accountable to both civil authorities and to the college for any illegal activity, such as assault, theft, possession of illegal substances, disorderly conduct and so forth. The college will refer matters to the proper civil authorities.
Students must regularly and strictly observe the regulations of the Code of Conduct.
Any non-ethical conduct which is considered a disciplinary offense is subject to the action stipulated in these regulations.
Complying with all applicable laws and with the regulations, rules, announcements, orders, guidelines, and established practices of the University.
Preserving and promoting the unity, peace and order, reputation, and honor of the University.
Refraining from causing disturbances, committing physical assault against others, or damaging University property or the property of others.
Conducting oneself as a responsible and respectable member of society and refraining from any conduct contrary to good morals or from any act that may bring disrepute, harm, or damage to oneself, others, or the University.
Obeying and complying with the instructions, orders, or warnings issued by University faculty members or staff in the performance of their duties.
Refraining from consuming alcoholic beverages or using intoxicating substances within University premises or while wearing the student uniform.
Refraining from smoking within University premises except in designated smoking areas.
A student shall be deemed to have committed a serious disciplinary offense if he or she engages in any of the following acts:
Committing any of the disciplinary violations specified above that results in serious damage to the University.
Committing a criminal offense for which a final judgment has been rendered imposing a term of imprisonment without suspension, or a more severe penalty, except where the offense was committed through negligence or constitutes a petty offense.
Engaging in academic dishonesty in any University examination, assessment, or evaluation process, or impersonating another person in an examination conducted by any public or private institution.
Committing academic fraud in the preparation of a thesis, dissertation, independent study, or any other academic work required for graduation, or undertaking such work on behalf of another person through dishonest means.
Engaging in obscene or indecent conduct, sexual harassment, or any other sexual misconduct that may seriously damage the reputation or well-being of oneself, others, or the University.
Producing, disseminating, or possessing media, publications, drawings, writings, electronic media, or any other materials, or otherwise displaying messages, images, or symbols by any means that are obscene, misleading, falsified, or likely to cause serious harm or damage to other persons or to the University.
Forging another person's signature, falsifying documents, altering genuine documents, or using such forged, falsified, or altered documents with the intent to cause damage to another person or to the University.
Offering, promising to offer, or providing property, benefits, or any form of inducement to faculty members or staff in order to improperly obtain academic scores, examination results, or assessment outcomes for oneself or others.
Engaging in any conduct that seriously damages the dignity and honor of student status or the reputation of the University.
Any student who commits a disciplinary offense under these Regulations shall be subject to disciplinary sanctions. The sanction imposed shall be determined in accordance with the seriousness of the conduct and its consequences, taking into consideration the student's prior record, behavior, mental condition, surrounding circumstances, the nature of the offense, and any mitigating factors that may warrant leniency.
If the disciplinary offense is minor and of a trivial nature, the student may be given a verbal warning.
If the disciplinary offense is not serious, the student shall receive a disciplinary probation sanction.
If the disciplinary offense is serious, the student shall be subject to one of the following sanctions:
(1) Disqualification from examinations in all or selected courses.
(2) Suspension from studies for a period not exceeding six (6) regular trimesters under the trimester academic system. The period of suspension shall be counted as part of the student's period of study. During the suspension period, the student shall not be permitted to register for summer-session courses;
(3) Deferral of nomination for graduation approval for a period not exceeding three regular trimesters under the trimester system.
(4) Dismissal from student status.
