Gold Prize for MUIC Food Science Student

A senior student from the Food Science and Technology major of Mahidol University International College (MUIC)won the Gold Prize in the Young Rising Stars of Science Award 2022 for her undergraduate research project during the 48th International Congress on Science, Technology and Technology-based Innovation (STT48) with the theme “Science and Technology for Advancing toward SDGs.

Ms. Sopanant Datta’s research project was entitled, “Steric Effect vs Electron Delocalization: Stability of Diastereomers, Conformers and Constitutional Isomers” which was undertaken with the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taweetham Limpanuparb of MUIC’s Science Division. Ms. Sopanant’s minor is in chemistry.

The event, held during November 29 - December 1, 2022 at the School of Science, Walailak University in Nakhon Sri Thammarat, was organized by the Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King.
