MUIC Celebrates 56th Anniversary of Royal Bestowal of Mahidol University’s Name and 137th Year Commemoration

Mahidol University celebrated the 56th Anniversary of the Royal Bestowal of its Name and the 137th Year Commemoration on March 2, 2025 at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

Mahidol University International College (MUIC) was directly involved in many of the major events, which included the following:

Early in the morning of March 2nd, the Homage-paying Ceremony was held in front of the statue of HRH Prince Mahidol of Songkla, followed by a Merit-making Ceremony at Prince Mahidol Hall. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, Associate Dean of MUIC, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chompunuch Pongjit, Associate Dean for Educational Affairs of MUIC, represented the MUIC Dean.

- There was also an Expression of Gratitude Ceremony for senior academic staff with Professor Emeritus Dr. Chariya  Brockelman, former MUIC Dean, as one of the recipients.

- Another activity was the Presentation Ceremony of Mahidol University’s Honorary Awards and Pins. Dr. Laddawan Jianvittayakit, Associate Dean for Environment and Sustainable Development of MUIC, and Dr. Prateep Wongverayut, Associate Dean for Administration, on behalf of the Dean, presented flowers to express congratulations to both researchers and alumni awardees.

On August 22, 2026, I completed my first IRONMAN triathlon in Tallinn, Estonia: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon. It took me 11 hours and 35 minutes. While one of the perks of finishing an IRONMAN is the right to brag, that isn’t the point of this post. The point is that MUIC supported me in achieving this personal goal through the 40th Anniversary Academic Changemakers Scholarship.
