Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phitaya Charupoonphol, Dean of Mahidol University International College (MUIC), along with several college executives and officials, attended the launching of “MUIC Says No to Plastic Bags” campaign and the opening ceremony of the 7-11 convenience store at Aditayathorn Building on September 13, 2018.
The Environment and Energy-saving Committee launched the “MUIC Says No to Plastic Bags” campaign, encouraging members of the MUIC community to use tote bags instead of plastic bags in their shopping by sharing and / or returning their clean tote bags in front of the newly-opened 7-11 convenience store. In this campaign, participants were asked to design and color their own tote bag as part of efforts to raise awareness about the environment.

เมื่อวันที่ 13 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2561 คณบดีวิทยาลัยนานาชาติ ได้เข้าร่วมพิธีเปิดร้านสะดวกซื้อ 7-11 และกิจกรรมโครงการ MUIC Say No to Plastic Bags โดยมีนางคุณสมลักษณ์ ลันสุชีพ (ประธานคณะกรรมการอนุรักษ์พลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อมและโครงการสำนักงานสีเขียวฯ) กล่าวรายงานโครงการฯ โดยโครงการฯ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อลดปริมาณถุงพลาสติกซึ่งเป็นขยะที่ย่อยสลายยากและเป็นการสนองต่อนโยบายและมาตรการการเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยสีเขียว ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมที่รณรงค์ในการใช้ถุงผ้าแทนการใช้ถุงพลาสติก โดยตั้งจุดยืม – คืน ถุงผ้าบริเวณหน้าร้านสะดวกซื้อ อีกทั้งภายในงานมีการระบายสีถุงผ้าเพื่อสร้างความร่วมมือและความตระหนักในการรักษาและคำนึงถึงสิ่งแวดล้อม
