Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Rakkaew Club held a one-day trip to Baan Saladin Village, Maha Sawat, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province on Friday, May 24, 2024.

The club took 21 students to explore Baan Saladin and experience life at the local community through four main activities. These were taking a boat trip to a lotus pond at Baan Na Bua, visiting Suwannaram Temple to see the Buddha statue and feed food to the fish in the canal next to the temple, visiting spring bitter cucumber house and trying some snacks and products from this type of fruit, and making a Thai snack called “khao thang” at Baan Khao Thang.

The group also took a boat ride to different places so students were able to experience nature, appreciate the green sites and the thriving local life along the route.

At the end, the students attended several workshops where they were given the chance to brainstorm new ideas on how to improve the local community by suggesting alternative solutions.
