Sustainability Not a Trend but a “Tidal Wave,” Entrepreneurs Tell MUIC Business Students

On February 3, 2026, the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) program of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) had the pleasure to host a special lecture on the topic of “Challenges and Opportunities of Sustainability for Business Competitiveness: Entrepreneurial Perspective.” The event took place at Aditayathorn Building as the BBA continued its series of special sessions on the Business Sustainability theme.

The event was dedicated to the importance of sustainability for business success and featured two distinguished guest speakers with extensive entrepreneurial experience: Mrs. Sirilak Narongtanupone, Co-founder and Managing Director of Equator Pure Nature Co., Ltd. (EPN), and Mr. Peter N. Wainman, Co-founder and CEO of Equator Pure Nature Co., Ltd. (EPN).

Mrs. Sirilak and Mr. Peter opened their session by introducing their company and the award-winning products marketed under the brand “Pipper Standard.” They then shared key milestones of their entrepreneurial journey, from the company’s founding to its emergence as a leading clean-technology company in Asia, highlighting how sustainability has been embedded at the core of their business strategy from the outset.

After four years of intensive research and development, they successfully developed a globally patented pineapple-fermentation technology and became the world’s first commercial users of fermented pineapple fluid as the core active ingredient in a range of cleaning and hygiene products. These products are natural, hypoallergenic, and eco-friendly, and are designed for home, laundry, personal, and pet care.

The guest speakers emphasized that sustainability is not a passing trend but a tidal wave—slow at first, yet increasingly powerful and unstoppable—driven by growing consumer expectations around health and safety.

This special lecture also had a much participative and engaging workshop, in which business students jointly discussed with the guest speakers some of the areas they consider will bring future business challenges and opportunities.

MUIC and the Business Administration Division extend their sincere appreciation to the distinguished speakers for this exceptional learning opportunity and look forward to welcoming them again in the near future.
