Investment Club’s SET Site Visit

Ever wondered what lies behind the world of investing? Step into the captivating realm of the SET Investory Investment Discovery Museum.

The Investment Club of of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) recently took participants to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) to encourage them to invest for sustainability. This activity also aimed at helping the students develop an understanding of the Thai capital market's operational mechanisms and development of Thailand's stock exchange.

The Investment Club’s SET site visit on March 15, 2024 involved 49 participants (40 students and 9 staff members). They learned a variety of things there, including challenges to financial planning and what they should do. The presentation was in the form of cartoons to make it easier to understand.

Next, the participants learned about the history and significant events of SET and view the board that was used to bid Thailand's first four stocks, with a display of a phone used to buy stock and binoculars for looking at the board. The following zone is on retirement, and they let the students and staff members create a retirement plan. The highlight of the museum was playing an investing game that resembles actual investing. The students and staff members then received the results of their investment, along with suggestions for improvements.
