MUIC Participation Seen in MU Bio Plant Conversion to Cell and Gene Therapy Facility

Mahidol University International College (MUIC) played host to the Mahidol University (MU) Bio Plant Project Proposal presentation on March 14, 2025 at A303, Aditayathorn Building, MUIC.

Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, MD, MUIC Dean, along with MUIC executives and Business Administration (BA) Division officials and faculty members, listened to Assoc. Prof. Yodchanan Wongsawat, PhD, MU Vice President for Research, as he gave a presentation about the planned conversion of MU’s Bio Plant for Living Drugs into an Advanced Therapy Manufacturing Unit.

Also present were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prattana Punnakitikashem, Dean of College of Management Mahidol University (CMMU); and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirisuhk Rakthin, Deputy Dean, Academic Services, CMMU.

The MUIC executives who attended the meeting included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, Associate Dean; Asst. Prof. Dr. Chompunuch Pongjit, Associate Dean for Educational Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanida Hansawasdi, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amonrat Thoumrungroje, Vice Chair, Business Administration Division; Asst. Prof. Dr. Malinvisa Sakdiyakorn, Vice Chair, Business Administration Division; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olimpia Cavosora Racela, Marketing Program Director, Business Administration Division.

Dean Chulathida said it is a worthwhile undertaking and that “the more people understand this idea, the more people can be encouraged to help.” She added that aside from the contributions to be made by MUIC’s Business Administration Division, there is also the possibility of letting MUIC’s Science students to participate also.

On August 22, 2026, I completed my first IRONMAN triathlon in Tallinn, Estonia: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon. It took me 11 hours and 35 minutes.
