Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Film Club organized an exciting day trip to the Thai Film Archive in Nakhon Pathom province on May 20, 2023.

The Film Archive was featuring a special screening of the iconic Thai filmmaker Pen-ek Ratanaruang's masterpiece, "Last Life in The Universe" (2003). With an impressive 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, "Last Life in The Universe" played a pivotal role in introducing Thai cinema to a global audience, solidifying Pen-Ek's stature as a prominent figure in the Independent World Cinema realm. Even two decades later, it continues to stand as a cinematic gem especially to fans of Thai Indie filmmaking.

The club’s journey through Muang Maya (Maya City) was an invaluable icebreaker, fostering dynamic conversations among the 24 participating club members about the film and their shared passion for cinema. The members were eager to collaborate further with the Film Archive in the upcoming term, promising to organize more captivating events.

The film left a lasting impression on the club’s members and the post-screening tour of the Film Archive's remarkable museum added an extra layer of enchantment to their day.
