Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Debate Club made a clean sweep of the World Changers Cup on October 22-24, 2022.

A debate tournament hosted by Wellington International School Bangkok and which has been running for many years now, the World Changers Cup is a prestigious competition for speech and debate in Thailand.

Two teams from MUIC—Earth, Wind and Fire and MUIC Underdogs—competed, with team Earth, Wind and Fire eventually crowned as the Champion of the Senior/Open Category of Debate.

The Best Speech and Best Speaker Awards also ended up in MUIC hands with Ibrahim Dawoodjee, a Biological Science student, winning the two awards. Three other MUIC students won speakers awards, enabling the college to corner 4 of the 5 top speaker awards, completing its stunning victory. Aside from Mr. Dawoodjee, the three other top speaker awardees are: Patsha Ha, who majors in Physics (2nd Best Speaker Award); Sumit Sachdev, a Computer Science student (3rd Best Speaker Award); and Taha Dardarananda, a Chemistry student (5th Best Speaker Award).
