For Ms. Mariana Postoronca, who hails from Moldova and studies Marketing in Roehampton University in the United Kingdom, Thailand has always fascinated her for “its vibrant culture, dynamic economy, and, most importantly, its unique approach to marketing. That’s why I chose Mahidol University International College.”
She explained, “The professors weren’t just knowledgeable; they were industry experts, blending Western and Eastern strategies in ways I had never seen before. My classmates came from all over the world, each bringing their own perspectives, challenging me to see marketing in a new light.”
For her, the three best things about MUIC are:
- Diverse international community
- High academic standards
- Engaging activities & events
And she added a fourth: “And delicious fooooood at the food court!”
Would she recommend MUIC to her friends in the UK who are thinking of going on exchange studies? “Thailand has given me more than an education—it has given me a global perspective. And as I walk through the bustling streets of Bangkok, I realize this experience would shape my future in ways I had never imagined. I would definitely recommend to other students to get the opportunity to study at MUIC.”

Ms. Sayane Takahashi is a Japanese student from the Japan Women’s University in Tokyo who decided to go on exchange studies at Mahidol University International College (MUIC) as she wants to attend a university where its bilingual students are exposed to a variety of viewpoints. “I personally enjoy discussing issues from multiple perspectives,” she said.
Once she started her studies in MUIC, she was impressed by the openness and enthusiasm of students in discussing sensitive topics including LGBTQIA+ within a relaxed academic atmosphere. Ms. Sayane said the openness in MUIC made for a comfortable learning experience.
Asked about the three best things about MUIC, Ms. Sayane enumerated the following:
- The MUIC campus’ lush natural surroundings
- The college’s cultural and seasonal events
- The friends she has made in MUIC
Asked if she would recommend MUIC to her friends in her home university, Ms. Sayane said, “Yes, I would. If someone chooses to study in MUIC, I think it would meet their academic and cultural expectations.”
Every year, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) welcomes hundreds of inbound exchange students from its over 140 partner universities abroad. The presence of Ms. Sayane and Ms. Mariana and others like them help enrich the culturally diverse campus of MUIC. At the same time, inbound students bring home with them not only valuable knowledge but also new-found friendships and lifelong memories of their stay in Thailand.
