MUIC’s 38th Anniversary
Bridging Cultures, Building Futures
The slogan for this year’s anniversary celebration, “38 Years of Global Empowerment: Bridging Cultures, Building Futures” suggests that over the course of 38 years, there has been a concerted effort to empower individuals. This empowerment has been achieved through initiatives aimed at bridging cultural divides, fostering understanding, and promoting cooperation among diverse communities. Furthermore, it implies that these efforts have contributed to the creation of opportunities and pathways for individuals to build better futures for themselves and others, ultimately leading to positive societal and global development.
2021
MUIC celebrated its 35th anniversary in March 2021 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic which has seen the campus going into lockdown twice since 2020. MUIC conducted classes through either online, blended or hybrid types of learning strategies, depending on the prevailing pandemic situation. It also enhanced its academic offerings by introducing the iDesign Elective Program and a new major (Creative Technology) in 2020.
2018
30 Years and Beyond
More than three decades after its establishment, MUIC currently offers 17 undergraduate majors in Arts, Sciences, Communication Arts, Engineering, and Business Administration, along with two master’s degree programs, for approximately 3,000 students.
2017
Breaking New Ground: Aditayathorn Building
MUIC inaugurates its newest facility, Aditayathorn Building, named in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Aditayathorn Mahidol who is also a distinguished alumna.
1998
MUIC Continues to Grow
A six-story complex is completed in order to accommodate over 1,000 students. A new managerial style is also introduced, in addition to an expansion of academic offerings, additional internships, including the Salaya Pavilion Hotel and Training Center, a pre-college program and the formation of offices that addresses both student and alumni needs.
1996
Full-fledged Faculty
With approval from the Mahidol University Council, ISDP is officially designated Mahidol University International College (MUIC), giving it the full weight and stature of a faculty.
1992
New Building and Majors
ISDP officially dedicates its new building, which can accommodate 486 students, and introduces two additional majors in Business Administration and Food Science and Technology.
1986
ISDP: Forerunner of MUIC
The Mahidol University Council officially endorses the formation of an International Students Degree Program (ISDP) with seven major offerings in the Sciences and Travel Industry Management.
