Available Position: 

The Communication Design Program at Mahidol University International College is currently seeking a faculty member with teaching and professional experience in graphic design / communication design areas, especially in digital and online communication, responsive design, design technology, and/or related fields.

The Program:

The Communication Design Program at Mahidol University International College is committed to providing opportunities for world-class design education in Thailand. The curriculum is designed to promote creative thinking, problem solving, and innovation and aims to produce professional designers who have design skills in diverse contexts emphasising the design process, including research, ideation, revision, and criticism. Requirements: 

  • Possesses at least three years of teaching at the undergraduate level and at least five years of professional work experience in graphic design / communication design areas, especially in digital and online communication, responsive design, design technology, and/or related fields.
  • Holds at least a Master’s / Master of Fine Arts degree and possibly a Doctoral degree in graphic design / communication design areas and / or related fields of study.
  • Committed to providing an international teaching and learning environment for students with great initiative, engaging students in creative thinking and critical dialogue.
  • Experienced in creating and delivering progressive design and technology curricula.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and professionalism in being a team player and possesses leadership qualities.
  • Capable of academically advising students enrolled in the program, as well as providing guidance to seniors who are developing their thesis projects.
  • Intends to conduct research and / or produce creative academic work in areas related to research interests and / or teaching.
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities in the program, division, and at the college level and serve as an advocate for the program.

Available Position

The Media and Communication Program at Mahidol University International College is currently seeking faculty members with teaching and professional experience in 1) media production with a specialization in the area of digital video production 2) digital media and digital journalism 3) integrated marketing communication. The successful candidate will be required to deliver one or more fields within the major concentrations: creative content, digital journalism and integrated marketing communication.

The Media and Communication Program at Mahidol University International College is committed to providing opportunities for world-class media education in Thailand. We seek to position students to succeed in today’s disruptive and convergent media environment through the integration of theory and practice that establishes a base of interdisciplinary knowledge combining arts, humanities, communication, and storytelling that ensures a working application of media technology. The curriculum aims to enhance students’ abilities to communicate artistically and with intent, to use media innovations to benefit society and to shape identities and communities, while working from a global perspective with diverse groups of people.

Key Responsibilities

  • To engage in teaching, research (creative work), and academic service
  • To serve as academic advisor to students, advise thesis projects, and support internship opportunities for students
  • To develop course materials that align with courses’ aims and objectives, program’s learning outcomes, and university’s graduate attributes
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues in the Media and Communication Program and to contribute to the running of the program and division
  • To liaise with Program Director about student experiences regarding common issues raised by students or to alert them to concerns about individual students

Requirements

  • A PhD in Communication Arts or related field is expected, applicants with a Master’s Degree will be considered
  • Must have teaching experience at the University level

  • One full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Business Economics. The candidate should be specialized in teaching Econometric & Quantitative Analysis, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and other Business Economics related courses.
  • One full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Management. The candidate should be specialized in teaching Management, International Business Management, and other management related courses.
  • One full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Accounting. The candidate should be specialized in teaching Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and other Accounting related courses.
  • One full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Operation Management. The candidate should be specialized in teaching Operation Management and other related courses.
  • One full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Business Innovation. The candidate should be specialized in teaching Business Innovation and other related courses.
  • One full-time Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor of Business Statistics. The candidate should be specialized in teaching Business Statistics, Business Data Analysis and other related courses.

 

Full-time lecturers at Business Administration Division are expected to contribute for the teaching excellency and research goals of MUIC, as well as to collaboratively participate in the development of the College, the University and the society through the performance of academic services and administrative tasks.

  • Part-time: Business Statistics
    Basic statistics, probability distribution of random variable, estimation of hypothesis testing, variance analysis, probability distribution, correlation analysis and regression equation, programming application for statistics, and use statistics to make business decisions.

 

  • Part-time: Management of Business Information
    The overall goal of this course is to prepare students to understand the importance of data, data analysis, and data visualization in order to build data models. In this course, students will learn how to use computerized tools to build data models, as well as, analyze and visualize data in order to make informed decisions.

 

  • Part-time: Management Science
    Application of quantitative analysis using management science techniques to solve business problems. Linear programming, network models, decision analysis, and simulation.

 

  • Part-time: Operations and Project Management
    Modern concepts, models and tools for planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling the production and distribution of goods and services, in various industries.

 

  • Part-time: Business Ethics and Sustainability
    An understanding, analysis of ethical concepts, and the implications of ethics in business decisions under different social and other business-related environments, an application of ethical principles to ethical issues within the organization and the external environment.
