Thai/Foreign applicants residing in Thailand can apply to study at the Preparation Center for Language and Mathematics (PC) or Mathematical Foundations Program (MP) only after taking the MUIC Entrance Examination and when the entrance results show that their English skills and/or mathematics do not meet minimum requirements for entrance to MUIC. These applicants will be eligible to study in the PC or MP program before gaining entrance to MUIC.PC and MP are direct pathways to MUIC, so after students have passed PC or MP, they automatically will be accepted to study at MUIC.

Applicants residing in and outside of Thailand who wish to improve their English language skills can directly apply to study at the Preparation Center for Languages and Mathematics (PC) through the PC Direct Track. This admission track aims at accommodating students who have met the minimum PC Admission requirements and are pursuing an English language preparatory course before furthering their studies at MUIC.
Applicants who live in Thailand during the MUIC Entrance Examination period may also be advised to apply through the MUIC Entrance Examination.

Course duration: 10 weeks per quarter per level; classes Monday – Friday
Studying at PC offers several benefits. Firstly, the four levels of instruction (PC1 – PC4) offered by PC aim to improve students’ language skills, so they can continue their studies at MUIC. Additionally, PC students learn study skills, basic concepts of logic and ethics, and independent learning strategies. Students at PC also have the opportunity to take math courses.
There are four levels of English classes at PC. The first two levels focus on four basic skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In the third and fourth levels, the skills are combined. The main focuses of the higher levels are term projects, group discussions, and academic essay writing.
PC students generally spend 3-12 months at the PC program, depending on their beginning level. Each PC levels takes 10 weeks, or approximately 3 months.
Students are required to pay a tuition fee of 38,500 THB per PC quarter. Those who need to take a mathematics course may need to pay an additional 8,000 THB.
However, non-Thai students applying through the PC International Track will also be required to pay a one-term deposit fee of 38,500 THB. The deposit will be returned once they are enrolled at MUIC or register for the next PC quarter. Click HERE to see details of PC tuition and other fees.
Once international students are accepted to PC; they will be advised to apply for OR change visa type to a Non-Immigrant (ED) visa to study at PC. For assistance on documentation regarding visa issues, students are welcome to contact the PC office in person or via icpc@mahidol.ac.th
A: International students must buy worldwide health insurance and show evidence of such insurance before entering Thailand. The policy must include severe medical treatments, emergency medical evacuation, and infectious diseases and pandemics (Covid-19, influenza, etc).
