MUIC Welcomes Freshmen via Rubnong Activity

The much-awaited event for new freshmen, Rubnong Activity, was held at the Lobby, Aditayathorn Building on January 13 – 24, 2025. The Rubnong Activity—organized by the Class Committee (CMM) sophomores—is a special event designed to welcome new students, helping them adapt to university life, build friendships, and embrace the institution’s culture. This event is typically held at the beginning of the academic term and includes a variety of activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and a sense of belonging within the university community.

The Rubnong activities may include ice-breaking games to help juniors (Nongnong) get to know their peers and seniors (P’Group), team-building exercises to strengthen cooperation, skill development workshops to prepare them for academic and social life, and symbolic ceremonies such as traditional welcome rituals that highlight the connection between different generations of students.

Beyond the fun and interactive environment, the Rubnong Activity plays an important role in guiding juniors through their transition to university. Seniors provide support by sharing their experiences, offering advice on academics and extracurriculars, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. At the same time, seniors also develop leadership and mentorship skills through their involvement.

Ultimately, the Rubnong Activity is more than just an orientation—it is a meaningful tradition that strengthens the bond between students, ensuring that new members feel accepted, valued, and ready to embark on their university journey.
