Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Art Club challenged 112 participating MUIC students to look beyond the confines of canvas and paint. The club asked the students to embark on a unique journey of self-expression and interpretation by participating in an online activity entitled “Capture the Music” on Instagram on September 18 - 28, 2023.

The task was simple yet thought-provoking: Post a picture on their Instagram Story that resonated with a song. This seemingly effortless act encouraged the participating students to delve into the emotive and sensory dimensions of music. They had to explore their immediate environment and daily experiences to find connections with melodies and lyrics. This task fostered creativity and self-reflection among the students, encouraging them to see the world around them as a canvas for art, shaped not just by color on paper but by the harmonious interplay of sights and sounds.

By challenging the students to engage in this activity, the club said it hoped to inspire a deeper appreciation for the arts and a newfound perspective on how artistic expression can be found in the everyday, enhancing their understanding of the interconnectedness of music and the world they inhabit.
