The Biophilia Plant Kits subproject of the Biophilia Research Cluster continues to raise awareness of our utter dependency on nature and our inborn joy with her beauty and bounty.

Mr. Laird Allan and Dr. Kritya Bunchongchit of the Science Division are leading a team of 16 upper-class student mentors from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) to instruct 286 Grade 10 students at Mahidol University International Demonstration School (MUIDS) during September and October 2023.

Emphasizing environmental sustainability, they have installed uprecycled wood tables in six greenhouses on the grounds of MUIDS. Currently the students are raising more than 1,000 bean seedlings while getting tons of hands-on multidisciplinary experience in areas from botany to teamwork to journal writing (not to mention carpentry!).

The penultimate event will be multimedia presentations and awards during Biosynergy [IC × IDS]^MU 2023  October 24, 2023 at the MUIC Auditorium.

This work is cosponsored by MUIDS Department of Biology and MUIC Research Grant 2022.

Swimming, Cycling, and Running Toward a Quiet Mind

On August 22, 2026, I completed my first IRONMAN triathlon in Tallinn, Estonia: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km marathon. It took me 11 hours and 35 minutes. While one of the perks of finishing an IRONMAN is the right to brag, that isn’t the point of this post. The point is that MUIC supported me in achieving this personal goal through the 40th Anniversary Academic Changemakers Scholarship.
