As part of its efforts to attain a greener future, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) is now offering electric vehicle (EV) charging service.
Faculty and staff members, along with students and visitors who drive an EV can now go to MUIC’s Building 1 (or “Old Building”) to recharge their car’s battery. MUIC has the distinction of opening the first EV charging station in Mahidol University’s Salaya campus.
All that the drivers need to do is inform the security guard at the entry point and he will facilitate parking at one of the four charging points
With the cost of charging at only 12 Baht per unit, customers can choose from three online payment options, namely, QR PromptPay, E-wallet, and GINKA Credit.
The EV charging station is a partnership between MUIC and GINKA Charge Point.
According to Dr. Laddawan Jianvittayakit, Associate Dean for Environment and Sustainable Development and who heads the Office of Environment and Sustainable Development which manages the EV charging station, another facility is being constructed at Aditayathorn Building and is expected to be finished by March 2024.
