About The Event

The Panel Discussion entitled, “Indigenous Heritage, Popular Culture and Identity Politics” will be held on October 16, Wednesday, at the Spectrum Screening Space (A556) in Aditayathorn Building. It features H.E. Cecilia Galarreta, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the Kingdom of Thailand, as one of the panelists.

It will be followed by a Q’Pop Concert featuring the genre’s inventor, Lenin Tamayo, who has combined indigenous Peruvian themes with K-Pop moves swaying to the indigenous Quechua songs of Peru. This concert is part of Tamayo’s “Quechua Cultural Asia Tour.”

After the concert, a buffet of Peruvian food and drinks will await the guests and audience.

1:30 p.m. – Registration

2:00 p.m. – Panel Discussion

2:30 p.m. – Concert featuring Lenin Tamayo

3:30 p.m. – Peruvian Food and Soft Drinks

The event is open to faculty, students and staff from all majors.

Brace yourselves for an afternoon of discussion about Peruvian pop culture and indigenous heritage along with a Q’Pop concert and a Peruvian food buffet! This 3-in-1 event is brought to you by the International Relations and Global Affairs (IRGA) Program.
