From Your P’ with Love – CMM658’s “Senior Code”

It’s not common for everyone, especially freshmen, to get to know their seniors outside of classes. So, as with every trimester, the Sophomore Class Committee (CMM658) of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) organized an online activity from April 22 to May 2, 2024, to give the newly accepted freshmen a chance to get to know their lovely seniors and be provided a stepping stone towards becoming a part of the greater MUIC community in the next few years.

A total of 152 students participated in this activity, and the freshmen who participated were contacted anonymously by their seniors through Instagram, with challenges set up for them to do all the while trying to guess who out of everyone in sophomore year is messaging and having wholehearted conversations with them?

Challenges varied from freshmen to freshmen. These challenges could be anything from having the freshmen dances, drawing how they think their seniors look, or even having the freshmen show their seniors their bravery and other amazing skills. However, not all activities were online. CMM658 had set up a small booth as a link between the freshmen and seniors to exchange gifts with each other anonymously at the food court next to 7-Eleven in Aditayathorn Building as well.

In the end, after weeks of giving out hints and getting to know each other better through exchange of messages, seniors finally revealed themselves to their freshmen counterparts, giving them a glimpse of the friendliness, kindness, and compassion of their peers. This gave a sense of connection between the newly entered freshmen and the seniors from whom they can ask advice, learn more about the community, and meet more people through the seniors whom they had befriended in this “Senior Code.”
