Students and faculty members of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) participated in the 2019 Asia-Pacific Regional High-Level Forum on Green Economy at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok on June 10-12, 2019.
The meeting encompassed a Regional Ministerial Conference on Green Economy on June 10-11 followed by an Executive Training Course on Green Economy on June 11-12, 2019.
Dr. Isabel Pereira Rodrigues, a lecturer of Business Economics with the Business Administration Division (BA) of MUIC was one of the guest speakers for the Regional Ministerial Conference, shedding light on the role of academia in fostering green economy knowledge and practices. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Claus Schreier, lecturer of International Business with the BA Division of MUIC was also in attendance, together with Ms. Dararat Arunpanichlert and Ms. Sawita Intakul, students of the Business Economics major, and Mr. Krisd Charoenchati and Mr. Panupong Shaheen, students of the International Relations major of MUIC.
The event was organized as a collaborative effort of the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) and United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), in close partnership with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the Asia Foundation and the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
The Executive Training course provided knowledge on key principles, dimensions, and trends on the transition process towards green economy, as well as on tools and methods for proactive green business economics action.
