To assist its employees who have small, unsupervised children, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) launched Playroom (“Term Suk Room”) on February 14, 2020, at Aditayathorn Building.
The nursery, located at Room A218, will accommodate schoolchildren as young as 3 years old from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. as they wait for their parents to finish their work.
Assoc. Prof. Chulathida Chomchai, M.D., Dean of MUIC, welcomed a group of 10 children of MUIC faculty and staff who have signed up for the Playroom’s services during the launching of the nursery.
Made possible through the efforts of MUIC’s Welfare Committee, the Playroom aims to promote the welfare of the children, promote quality of life of MUIC employees’ families, encourage work efficiency and build good relations among each participating family. The children will not only be assured of safety and security in the Playroom but also opportunities to play and learn with each other.
The Playroom’s amenities include padded floor, covered electric outlets, sturdy tables and chairs, toys, learning materials and others. A CCTV system is also installed so that parents can have a remote viewing of their children through electronic devices.
In addition, there will be one nurse and 1-2 student volunteers assigned to take care of the young children.
