The Foreign Language Program of the Humanities and Language Division (HLD) conducted the selection process on May 31, 2019 for this year’s MUIC Foreign Language Ambassador Scholarship. The grant will benefit scholars to be chosen among students who would be participating in the Summer Program Abroad 2019.
Mahidol University International College (MUIC) through the Students Affairs Unit allocates 1 million Baht this year for this scholarship grant. Each language program (Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, and German) is allotted grants worth Baht 200,000 each, which will benefit 28 students.
Comprising the selection panel were Ms. Ruchi Agarwal, Assistant Dean for Educational Affairs; Dr. Prateep Wongverayuth, HLD Vice Chair; Mrs. Agnieszka Atthasit, Foreign Language Program Director; and Mr. Jun Toyama, Foreign Language Program Coordinator.
Asst. Prof. Analiza Perez-Amurao, HLD Chair, thanked MUIC for the support and highlighted the importance of the Summer Program Abroad for the foreign language students. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the MUIC leadership through the Student Affairs Unit for the support it extends allowing deserving students to participate in HLD’s annual Summer Program Abroad (SPA). Through the Foreign Language Ambassador Scholarship Program, MUIC students are provided the opportunity to experience an authentic language immersion program in the country specific to the foreign language they learn. Consistent with its thrust as a highly international academic unit, MUIC through HLD gives students a truly global experience,” she said.
