MUIC’s BA Division Hosts Research Productivity Talk

The Business Administration (BA) Division of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) hosted an exclusive Research Talk on October 4, 2024 entitled, “Sustaining Research Productivity: Lessons from a Prolific Researcher,” with Prof. Dr. Tom Baum from the University of Strathclyde as the keynote speaker.

Prof. Baum’s extensive contributions to work, employment, and organizational studies within the service business sectors have made a lasting impact on industry and policy across a broad geographical spectrum.

During this insightful session, Prof. Baum not only shared valuable advice to guide the audience on research direction but also offered reflections from his rich academic journey. He explored key topics, including his perspective on the evolving research landscape, offering a nuanced view on the debate between multidisciplinary and focused research, as well as composing conceptual articles. The talk also included interactive discussions on balancing the quality and quantity of research outputs and strategies for managing multiple projects simultaneously. Prof. Baum also emphasized the importance of embracing the peer review process, discussing how to effectively handle reviewers’ comments and turn setbacks, such as rejection, into opportunities for growth.
