On October 31, 2023, the Science Society Club at Mahidol University International College (MUIC) embraced the Halloween holiday with a spine-tingling twist. It hosted a DIY Fake Blood Workshop, creating an eerie blend of science and spookiness.

Held at the Dice Hall, 2nd Floor, Aditayathorn Building, the event allowed students to craft realistic-looking fake blood from everyday household ingredients: cane syrup, food coloring, and flour. Under the guidance of club committee members, participants learned about the chemical properties that give fake blood its life-like appearance. They also had hands-on experience in achieving different colors and consistency by mixing their own ratio of the syrup, coloring, and flour.

In the end, although not as busy as expected due to the location, the DIY Fake Blood Workshop was able to bridge the gap between science and the Halloween spirit. It allowed participants to add a gruesome touch to their costumes as Halloween night approached. There was a total of 14 students who participated in the activity.
