Scuba Theory Session with MUIC Diving Club

Mahidol University International College’s (MUIC) Diving Club organized a theory session on November 2 and 9, 2023 for participants intending to join its Pool and Ocean Sessions at Room 1315, MUIC Building 1.

This session was mandatory to instill safety precautions and highlighted significant points of scuba diving, ensuring that the 40 participating students are well-prepared and aware of the challenges they may encounter.

In this semester’s sessions, the Diving Club had the privilege of hosting Mr. Jirat Kiratiratanakulchai, also known as Kame, a professional scuba diving instructor from Just Dive Thailand. Kame provided two theory sessions, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of scuba diving.

These theory sessions play a crucial role in expanding students’ knowledge of dive physics, physiology, equipment, decompression theory, and dive planning. During these sessions, the guest speaker shared significant information about diving theory that every scuba diver should know. He conveyed this information through real-life situations he experienced during his own diving journey, providing practical insights that will prepare participants for their scuba diving adventures in the ocean session.

Moreover, the guest speaker emphasized the importance of becoming responsible and conscientious divers. He highlighted fundamental etiquette and manners that scuba divers should uphold, not only for their safety but also for the well-being of their dive buddies, marine life, and the ecology and environment underwater. These valuable lessons contribute to creating a community of skilled and environmentally conscious scuba divers within the MUIC Diving Club.
