Society Club Hosts another Science Jeopardy Game

On October 27, 2023, the Science Society Club of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) organized an exhilarating event called “Science Jeopardy.” This event, held through Zoom, brought together 15 science enthusiasts for a night of intellectual challenge and entertainment.

“Science Jeopardy” blended the excitement of a TV game show with scientific knowledge, as the teams tackled questions based on the club’s previously published podcast episodes with topics such as Alan Turing, Quantum Computers, etc. Grouped into teams composed of 1-3 members, the teams first picked a question based on a topic and a given score then tried to answer it. If a team gave the right answer, it gains the score. Otherwise, it loses the score and other teams get a chance to steal it to answer for a chance to gain (or lose) more scores. To amp up the competition, each team also had to buzz in order to get a chance to answer the last few questions as well.

In the end, the winning teams were: I want money, Average Danny Enjoyers, and The Sci-Guys, each winning cash prizes worth 3,000 Baht, 2,000 Baht, and 1,000 Baht, respectively. Overall, there were 15 students who participated in this competition.

MUIC’s Science Society Club committees expressed delight at the event’s success, emphasizing its potential to foster a love for science among peers. Science Jeopardy not only showcased their passion but also encouraged camaraderie within the MUIC community. The club announced plans for more fun events in the future.
