Moodle
Moodle is a free and open-source software that allows users to customize features to suit their needs. Through this platform, lecturers can create online classroom using the combination of different materials such as forums, video, games, quizzes and live sessions and learners are provided with personalized environment and variety choices of learning activities. Despite the flexibility, richness of resources and support from MUIC Educational Media Unit, the challenges some might find is that it’s not user-friendly and the interface is not that initiative.
Google Classroom
This is a free web service for schools that aims to simplify creating an online classroom area, and providing a teacher/student-friendly way of communicating and managing needed documents especially in terms of creating, distributing, and grading assignments. It allows users to use services like Google Drive, Google Docs, Forms and other services in G Suite to create and store documents. Lecturers can also post announcements and upcoming assignments which will be emailed to all students in the class.
