Description:

This workshop introduces teachers to the pedagogical ideals of active learning and project-based learning. It offers participants a chance to reflect on their successful teaching experiences to date, how they align with the principles of active learning, and how they can apply such principles in a several-step process to become even more effective educators.

Paul Wadden

Guest Speaker

Paul Wadden is a senior lecturer in the English for Liberal Arts Program at International Christian University, Tokyo. He is the author of many articles on language-teaching and education, more than 50 textbooks, and the editor of A Handbook for Teaching English at Japanese Colleges and Universities (Oxford University Press) and Teaching English at Japanese Universities: A New Handbook (Routledge).

From 2017 to 2018 he was a visiting scholar in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric at Stanford University.
