MUIC Explores Wider Scope of Collaboration with Australia’s Macquarie University

Officials of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) recently conducted exploratory talks with executives of Macquarie University on ways to expand the scope of MUIC’s joint activities with its Australian partner institution.

The meeting coincided with the MOU signing ceremony between Mahidol University and Macquarie University for the establishment of the Mahidol-Macquarie Centre for International Education (MCIE), which was held on April 10, 2019 at Emeritus Prof. Natee Rakpolmuang Conference Room, 5th Floor, Office of the President, Mahidol University Salaya campus.

Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Acting President, Mahidol University, signed the agreement alongside Prof. S. Bruce Dowton, Vice-Chancellor and President of Macquarie University.

MUIC officials, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ornlatcha Sivarak, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development, included Asst. Prof. Dr. Analiza Perez-Amurao, Chair, Humanities and Language Division; Dr. Jerimiah Morris, Chair, Fine and Applied Arts Division; Asst. Prof. Dr. Douglas Rhein, Chair, Social Science Division; and Mr. Julien Hardy, Program Director, Humanities and Language Division. They met with Macquarie University officials to find possible areas of collaboration.

Prof. Dowton gave a special talk on “Strategic Partnership” to inaugurate the roadmap of initiatives under MCIE. Afterwards, His Excellency Mr. Allan McKinnon, Australian Ambassador, provided congratulatory remarks for the successful collaboration in higher education between the two institutions.
