In honor of Pride Month, GENSCAPE Club brought 31 students from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) to the Embassy of Sweden on June 29, 2023 to attend an event entitled, “A Swedish Take on Diversity and Inclusion.”

The event aimed at giving the participating students an insight on the country’s efforts to become gender inclusive in hopes of inspiring MUIC students with diverse backgrounds to contribute to change.

Ms. Anna Jakenberg Brinck, the Deputy Head of Mission and Minister Counselor, discussed Sweden’s groundbreaking progress. As the event unfolded, Khun Nikki Phinyapincha, the founder of TransTalents and one of the guest speakers, also shared her opinions and experiences regarding gender diversity in the workplace. She emphasized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

The event included small interactive activities. A workshop was held in the last session of the event where students were divided into small groups to discuss and exchange ideas on specific scenarios surrounding gender diversity for 20 minutes and report back about their discussion. Students impressively contributed to the discussion despite being given a limited time.
