MUIC Students Stage “Cinderella” Musical

The students of ICEG 463 Comparative Topics in Literature: Drama successfully staged their adaptation of the musical “Cinderella” on July 10, 2019 at the MUIC Auditorium.

The well-loved tale of an orphan girl treated unfairly by her cruel stepmother and stepsisters until her fairy godmother makes it possible for her to meet the Prince and capture his heart was retold through a series of endearing song and dance numbers performed by the talented cast.

Ms. Pauline Edenn Mendoza Gallemit (who was also the director) captured the hearts of the audience with her portrayal of Cinderella. Mr. Poomdanai Dechawaleekul played the dashing Prince Christopher while BNK48 idol girl group member Ms. Nayika “CanCan” Srinian gave a delightful turn as the Fairy Godmother.

Stealing the scenes were Ms. Montasorn Sarbsorngchai as the Stepmother and Ms. Irin Wongphiphan and Ms. Dawin Lertviwattanachai as the Stepsisters. The other major supporting cast members were Mr. Ashootosh Asnani as King Maximilian, Ms. Maleewan Phoemchokchaithavee as Queen Constantina, and Mr. Paith Prayoonrat as Lionel.

ICEG 463 Comparative Topics in Literature: Drama is handled by Asst. Prof. Analiza Liezl Perez-Amurao and is offered by the English Studies Program, Humanities and Language Division.
