Foreign Language Program

Foreign Language Program

Foreign Languages offered at MUIC (General Education courses and Minor courses)
  • Chinese
  • French
  • German
  • Japanese
  • Spanish
  • Thai (General Education only)

Learning and speaking a foreign language provides students with more academic and professional opportunities as employers look for skillful graduates who can interact in various intercultural situations and communicate with non-English speakers. In addition, learning about other cultures makes us look at the world from a different perspective, and our life can become richer and full of new experiences. To fulfill these objectives, the Foreign Language Program at MUIC creates classroom situations which allow students to communicate, exchange ideas and creatively respond to the intercultural challenges of today’s world.

In order to join a Foreign Language course, students are not required to have previous knowledge. In case they have any, they will take a placement test to make sure that they are placed at the most suitable level.

What are the corresponding accreditation exams for each language offered at MUIC?

After successfully completing the Foreign Language Minor Program, MUIC students should be able to achieve the following proficiency levels in official language exams at corresponding exam centers/ institutions:

DELE for Spanish level B1
DELF for French level B1
Goethe exam for German level B1
HSK exam for Chinese level 4
JLPT exam for Japanese level N4
