Mahidol University International College enjoys exchange agreements with over 100 partner universities, representing more than 20 countries throughout the world. Participating in an exchange program is an excellent opportunity for MUIC students not only to expand their educational experiences through having an integrated, international curricular experience but also to engage in cultural exchange which will further develop their cross-cultural sensibilities.

Students can choose to study abroad for either one semester or one academic year at our partner universities and receive credit towards their degree at MUIC.

When To Apply?

The application periods for students who wish to participate in MUIC’s Outbound Study Abroad Program are in January and July. Prospective exchange students must report to the Student Exchange Office for detailed information on application dates.

Students who are interested in studying abroad will find information about MUIC partner universities by clicking on the Partner Universities link or personally visiting the Student Exchange Office, Room 2204, Building 2.

Application Process


  • Have completed at least three trimesters of study at MUIC
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.85 at the time of application (students who have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.70 will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Provide a TOEFL IBT score of at least 69 or Academic IELTS Overall score of at least 6.0
  • Participate in the Buddy Program with the Student Exchange Office for at least 1 trimester or participate in Special Projects with Project Development Unit for at least 14 days
