Why Exchange Students Like MUIC
November 30, 2023 2023-11-30 9:14Why Exchange Students Like MUIC
We recently met two inbound exchange students—Charlotte and Zhenhao—and asked them what are the three things they like the most with Mahidol University International College (MUIC). One of them is from the Netherlands, the other from China. Let’s read what they have to say:
Ms. Charlotte Filippo

- Numerous English Courses. Unlike many other institutions where most courses are taught in the native language, MUIC offers a plethora of courses in English. This means I have more choices to study what I’m truly interested in and even explore subjects that might not be available in my home country. It’s a fantastic opportunity for academic exploration.
- Teachers from Different Countries and Backgrounds. This is a valuable asset for any international college. It fosters a rich and diverse learning environment, where students can benefit from a variety of perspectives, teaching styles, and experiences.
- The Cafeteria. MUIC’s cafeteria offers a wide variety of food options and accommodates different dietary preferences, making it convenient and enjoyable for students. It’s a great place to relax and socialize with fellow students between classes, enhancing my overall college experience.
Mr. Zhenhao Yang
Majoring in Pharmacy,
Zhuhai Campus of Zunyi Medical University, China
- Free Course Selection Mechanism. The free course selection mechanism either allows us to concentrate on the field we want to study in the limited time we do our exchange studies here in MUIC or it gives us the opportunity to learn a wide range of knowledge in other academic areas.
- Frequent Holding of Various Activities. MUIC often holds a variety of activities. They can be large-scale events held during festivals or smaller-scale daily activities in ordinary days, which can promote the communication between MUIC students and foreign students. It also encourages students to learn more about foreign cultures.
- Concern for Students. At the end of each activity, the Office of International Affairs would send out questionnaires to collect our reactions to the activity and ask for our suggestions for improvement. Teachers here also try to learn more about my current situation and whether I needed help.
Being an exchange student is indeed an experience that will enrich your student life.
